This tea is shaped long and thin resembling pine needles, the name is derived from the shape of the finished tea leaves. The taste is fresh and sweet with some fruity character, and some umami astringency as well, the tea soup is a lovely green-yellow color.

This is a traditional green tea from Yunnan Province made from Camellia sinensis plants and has no relation to tisanes made from the leaves of pine or fir trees.
